Pebble Isle Marina

9/30/14
We had a great night at anchor. During the night the wind switched direction so we ended up swinging a full 360 degrees. When Al went to pull up the anchor he got quite a surprise. The anchor chain was wrapped several times around a tree limb. The limb had several branches coming off of it, plus there was a cinder block attached to it. When he tried to unwrap the limb it just slid down the chain. Finally it caught on the anchor and he was able to break off a branch, which got the chain partially unwound. But then the chain got jammed in the winch & couldn't move up or down. Al thought that he may have to cut the chain. After much effort he was able to get the winch unjammed. He then let the anchor fall back to the bottom hoping the chain would unravel from the log. Luckily when he pulled the anchor up again the tree was gone.

After that we had an easy cruising day to Pebble Isle Marina. Fellow looper boats, Serenity & Halcyon, were already docked. Shortly after we docked, our friends on Errante & Summerland arrived. We were able to use the marina's courtesy car to go to Walmart. In the evening the marina provide appetizers for docktails, and provided fresh cinnamon buns in the morning before our departure.

Tomorrow we plan to head further down the river & find an anchorage.
