What a beautiful day. The sun is shinning, the temperature is perfect, and there's a nice breeze to keep us comfortable. We went through 2 locks today, numbers 21 & 22. These locks now bring us down. It was a weird feeling going down in a lock. It felt like we were sinking. We stopped at the free dock in Sylvan Beach. We finally found a busy town. There's lot's of boats & plenty of activity. This place is like the state channel at home on the weekends, only busier.
Sylvan Beach is a summer resort town with several marinas, restaurants, an amusement park, a beach & everyone with a boat cruising by, and all the boats are packed to capacity. We were lucky to get one of the last remaining spots to tie up.
Tomorrow we plan to cross Oneida Lake. With all the wind today, the lake was pretty rough. The forecast is calling for less wind tomorrow, so hopefully the lake will be calm.
The first lock to bring us down
