O Canada

Kingston, Ontario

We left real early today because we wanted to cross Lake Ontario when it was calm, plus we wanted to arrive early as severe thunderstorms were scheduled for late afternoon. Lake Ontario is large and it felt like we were out in the ocean. It was hazy & foggy all day. We used the radar & it worked perfectly.
Lake Ontario is 175 miles long, 46 miles wide, and 800 ft. deep. We crossed the border into Canadian waters at 9:30am. It was odd that when we were out on the lake the boat got covered in bugs, all kinds of bugs, big & small. Luckily none of them bit us. There's bug bodies everywhere. We have a lot of bugs to wash off the boat tomorrow.
We went to the marina at Confederation Basin in Kingston, Ontario. It's right in the heart of the downtown area. It was very easy to clear customs. All it took was a very simple phone call to a very polite & pleasant Canadian Customs Agent and we were done. Hopefully it's that easy to check back into the USA.
We plan to stay in Kingston to be tourists and go sightseeing tomorrow.

We called customs from here
