Scotia Landing, NY

It was another hot day. It feels so much hotter here than it ever does at home. We miss the sea breezes. We went through 6 locks today. The first 5 locks are known as the "Waterford Flight". The Flight features 5 locks where vessels are lifted or lowered the greatest height in the shortest distance of any canal in the world. The change in elevation is 169 feet in less than 2 miles. It took us 1 & 1/2 hours to get through these 5 locks.
We saw several old steam boats heading to Waterford for the Steam Boat Show tomorrow.
We ended up at Scotia Landing near Schenectady. There was a water-ski show in the canal right in front of us.
Now we're battening down the hatches as we're expecting a line of severe thunderstorms with 50 mph winds tonight. Hopefully it will miss us.
