We left Wye Heritage Marina and had an easy run to Frying Pan Bay. It was sunny & calm. We were able to go for a swim, and were amazed that the water felt warm. Al went exploring in the woods & found wild blueberries. We were letting Hooper run free on land until someone from another boat came over to tell us that a bear was just spotted here this morning. After that info we kept Hooper on a leash & didn't venture too far into the woods.
The cove is located on Beausoleil Island & is shaped like a frying pan.
Wanted to walk the trails, but there were too many mosquitos, and we didn't want to find the bear.

Woke up & it was cold and windy. It's tough getting a weather report without Internet & most of the reports on VHF are in French. We headed out & it was calm on the narrow protected channels, but there were several areas were we were exposed to some big waves on Georgian Bay. It felt like the ocean. Our destination today was Henry's Fish Restaurant on Frying Pan Island. We're told this is a famous & busy place. We were also told to look out for seaplanes because they use the same docks as the boats. We anchored in a protected cove called Echo Bay near the restaurant, so we could take the dinghy to dinner. It really warmed up in the afternoon so we were able to go swimming & explore the area by dinghy.
Must watch out for the Massasauga Rattlesnake

Took the dinghy to dinner at Henry's famous restaurant. Not sure why it's famous, the food's
not great.
