Port Washington

Another rough day on Lake Michigan. The day started with dense fog. That wasn't really a concern as we have confidence in our GPS & radar. Of course the waves on the lake were much bigger than expected. That wasn't even too bad as we were taking them on the bow, and not the side, so we were uncomfortable, but at least we weren't rolling too much. Then a severe thunderstorm moved in on us two hours early. We really weren't too concerned about the heavy rain and thunder. What got really scary was the lightning. We saw huge lightning bolts that went from the sky right down to the water. That made us evacuate the bridge. We felt safer in the cabin. We were so happy to go into the harbor at Port Washington and get tied up in the marina. It continued to rain until late in the afternoon. It finally cleared up at 7:30pm so we had a nice sunset.
