We really had a perfect day today. It was sunny, warm, and the water was like glass. We cruised 15 miles to Mackinac Island and stayed at Mackinac Island State Harbor. There are no cars on the island. The only transportation is walking, horse & carriage, or bicycle. The island is very busy and touristy. More people are constantly arriving by ferry. The town is filled with souvenir shops. The island is known for fudge. Every other shop in town makes & sells fudge, and they all claim to have the best. When walking through town we were overwhelmed by the smell of fudge and horse manure mixing together. We rode our bikes on the 8 mile path around the island, and then went exploring by dinghy. We continue to be amazed at how pretty it is on Lake Huron, and how clear the water is.
Tomorrow we will head to Mackinaw City.
