Blind River

8/4/14
We've seen enough rocks & pines trees, and have eaten enough bad Canadian food. We're anxious to be back in the USA. We traveled 57 miles to Blind River. There's not much of a town here. Blind River is a town on the north shore of the North Channel. It was first settled in the late 1700s by fur traders. It got it's name because the mouth of the river was not visible to the early settlers traveling by canoe.

Tomorrow we should be back in the USA. We'll go 43 miles to Drummond Island, Michigan to clear customs.

Old smoke stack?

Just when we had lost all hope in any decent Canadian food, a local boater recommended that we try Pier 17. He gave us directions & off we went by bicycle. The prices were great & the food was excellent. It was probably the best food we've had in Canada.
