Top Rack Marina

We planned a nice short travel day for ourselves. We left Hampton, went through Norfolk and stopped at Top Rack Marina. We never stopped here before, and wanted to check it out. Supposedly the restaurant is very good. Dockage is free as long as you spend $75 in the restaurant. This marina usually has the cheapest fuel on the whole east coast, so we got 207 gallons.

When we left Hampton we heard the Coast Guard announcing over the radio that the Navy was bringing a submarine in from the ocean into Norfolk, and that all boats should stay clear. We saw all the action as the sub went to the submarine area in Norfolk. There were already two other subs at the dock. Everywhere you look in Norfolk you see a different type of Navy ship. It's really an interesting place to cruise through.

Hopefully dinner is great tonight.

We should be in North Carolina tomorrow.

Small Navy chase boats make sure we don't get too close

Hooper is very happy with a short calm journey today.
