Surf City, NC

The day started out very stormy with heavy rain and high winds. We weren't sure if we would be going anywhere today. As soon as the weather started to clear we headed out. We were traveling with the current and making great time.

We saw lots of dolphin today, and for the first time they came to play in our wake. That really gets Hooper's interest.

We entered the area of the Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune. Al called this morning to make sure there wouldn't be any live fire drills on the Intracoastal today that could delay us. According to our calculations, at our usual cruise speed, we would just miss the 12pm opening of the Onslow Bridge. Al decided to push the throttle wide open to see if we could make the bridge opening. The current was with us, and the speedometer hit 20mph. I think that's the first time ever for this boat. It felt great. I wish we could cruise at this speed all the time. We made it in time to make the bridge opening.

We went to Topsail Island Marina at Surf City.

We wanted to make the opening of the Onslow Swing Bridge. Al pushed the throttle wide open and the current was with us. We hit 20 mph for the first time ever.
