Myrtle Beach, SC

We're in South Carolina. We had an easy day, and the weather was warm and sunny. We got nervous when the bridge tender at the Little River Swing Bridge said he had a problem with the bridge and couldn't open it. Fortunately, the problem only lasted a couple of minutes, then the bridge was able to open.

All day there was a heavy smell of smoke and the sky was very hazy. It's from the wildfires raging inland.

We stopped at Myrtle Beach. Normally we stay at Barefoot Landing on the east side of the ICW, but their docks were badly damaged during Hurricane Matthew. We had to go to Barefoot Marina on the west side of the ICW. We launched the dinghy to cross the channel to the east side where all the shops and restaurants are located. We took Hooper to the tiger exhibit. The last time we were here, the reaction of Hooper and the tigers was really cool to see. Unfortunately, the tigers aren't here now. They were taken back to the preserve and won't be back until March 2nd.
