Moorehead City, NC

When I woke up this morning it was 33 degrees out. The boat and dock were shiny and slippery from frost. I never expected that in North Carolina. I checked the weather at home and was surprised to see that it was warmer in Massapequa than it was in North Carolina. We had all the heaters running full blast overnight. We left early to head further south. We ran the generator to have heaters running on the fly bridge.

We originally planned a rather short day going to Oriental, NC. But, because the weather always changes for the worst, it was looking like tomorrow wouldn't be a good travel day on the Neuse River. (Which is the widest river in the US). We decided to cross the Neuse River today, and head for Moorehead City. We went to the town dock in Moorehead City.

It was a long day and Hooper was looking bored, until he spotted lots of dolphin just outside Moorehead City. The dolphin must have been busy fishing, since none would come over and play in our wake. That usually is a favorite sport of the dolphin, and Hooper goes crazy watching them. Hooper was happy just to spot them, even if they wouldn't come over and play.
