Couldn't believe we woke up this morning & it was only 39 degrees. At least it was sunny all day. Saw lots of dolphin again. We had two riding the bow for almost 5 min.
Went into the Cape Fear River. Couldn't believe how big the river was. The water was rough & there was a really strong current that we had to go into. Al put the motor up to 2500 rpm & we were barely going 8 mph. We saw a large ferry that Al decided to out run, instead of giving way. We won the race. I didn't think this boat could outrun anybody.
On the Cape Fear River we went past the Army's Military Ocean Terminal. This is the largest amunitions port in the U.S.
There was a tug pushing a barge going really slow in front of us. We wanted to pass, but the channel was really narrow. Al took a chance, gunned it & we past him no problem. But then we got to the Little River Swing Bridge & had to wait for the tug to catch up so the bridge operator wouldn't have to open the bridge twice. Oh well!
We pulled into Dock Holidays Marina in North Myrtle Beach. There was a supermarket nearby, so we were able to restock supplies. I can't believe how much beer & soda Al can carry. Not sure where we'll end up tomorrow.
