Had a stessful start to the day because the channel was very narrow, winding & shallow, only 6-7 ft. in spots. It was only shallow when I was driving. When Al took over it was always at least 15 ft. Went past a cable ferry & a burial ground for old work boats. Saw vast stretches of low country marsh. Once again saw many dolphin. Surprised to see them in small creeks & shallow water. Took a video of them swimming in our wake. Hooper saw them for the first time & went crazy. He was wagging his tail & whimpering. He spent the rest of the day looking for them.
Went into Charleston Harbor & planned to stay at the Charleston City Marina. We pulled into the marina, but felt uncomfortable. The marina is very large & has a big city feel. We took Hooper for a walk & filled our water tanks. We then headed out, anchored right across from the marina & felt much more comfortable.
We plan on getting an early start tomorrow & hopefully we make it to Hilton Head. Not sure if we'll stay inside, or head out into the ocean.
