Georgetown

We had another long day. It was very sunny, hot and humid. We left early so we could travel at high tide. We had been told that the Intracoastal Waterway north of Charleston is not passable at low tide. Even though it was high tide, there were still several very shallow spots which makes for stressful travel. Plus most of the day we were traveling against the current which slowed us down dramatically.

But, after a long day we stopped at one of our favorite towns, Georgetown,SC. We stayed at Harborwalk Marina. This is a small old southern town with many restaurants, shops and big southern homes. It's always interesting walking through this town.

Fort Sumtner

Last time we came through here there was a small car ferry, now there's a new floating swing bridge.
