Jacksonville

We left St. Augustine and headed north. We were traveling against the current so we were only able to go 7 mph. Ugh, that speed makes for a long day. Because there was so much rain in the forecast we put up the eisenglass enclosure yesterday. Instead of rain, it was sunny and very hot today. It was so hot, even with all the windows open in the enclosure, that we couldn't stand it, so Al took it all down again.

We stopped at the Jacksonville Free City Dock. We had planned to stay the night, but after a half hour we realized that the area was too buggy. We quickly left and headed up the St. John's River. We went past the large ship port of Jacksonville. We stopped at Metropolitan Park Marina, which is a free marina near the downtown area.

It was a long hot day so we stayed on the boat and didn't explore. Tomorrow we plan to move to a dock right in Jacksonville and will explore the city.
