Up at the crack of dawn again. Called lock 52 to see if we could lock through. They said come on down & we'll get you through ASAP. We got there and had to wait 1 1/2 hrs. before we could go through. Once through, we could relax, because today would be a relatively short day of 50 miles. It was so easy traveling on the Ohio River that I was able to give Al a haircut while he was in the driver's seat. He then went downstairs to take a shower while I drove.
We then entered the Cumberland River and the scenery was even nicer. We traveled 30 miles on the Cumberland, but the current was even stronger so our speed was down to 8 mph. We then went through the Barkley Lock, which raised us 57 ft. into Lake Barkley. We then headed to Green Turtle Bay Marina in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Tomorrow the boat needs a good cleaning since it is covered in Mississippi mud & looks like a dirt bomb went off.
We plan to stay at Green Turtle Bay for a week and then head into Kentucky Lake. Everyday we watch a parade of looper boats come into this marina. The 30 boats that were at Grafton Marina with us are all on their way to this marina.

The fish jump like crazy when they release the water from the lock.
We went exploring & found a nice beach for Hooper to run free
