Naples

We headed out early to avoid the wind & waves, but no luck. Out in the Gulf the wind was pretty strong & the waves pretty big already. We're in for another rough ride. We had to go pretty far out into the Gulf to get around the shoals of Cape Romano. Once we got around that we could head in close to shore & were comfortable in the smaller waves.

We headed into Naples & stayed at the Naples Boat Club. I can't believe the long channel to get to the marina isn't a no wake zone. It's narrow with million dollar homes on both sides & everyone is speeding by like maniacs making monster wakes. We went through wide open to avoid being rolled by all the boat wakes. So glad we are very protected in our slip in the marina. We will stay here three days waiting for the storms to pass. We can explore Naples & Tin City.

We plan to head to Fort Myers when the wind dies. We have plans to meet one of the guys Al used to work with at LRS.
