Fort Myers

Same story again. We headed out into the Gulf and it was windy & rough as hell. We thought about turning back, but we really wanted to get to Fort Myers & figured we could make it. We were desperate to get back to the inside waterway & calm waters. What's one more uncomfortable day on the high seas?

We pulled into Legacy Harbor Marina in Fort Myers. Al's retired friend from work, George Hart, met us at the marina with his family. We all went out for a late lunch. He then came back to the boat & reminisced about his days at the shop with Al. He retired in 2003. Al told him about all the things that have changed since he left.

Tomorrow we head east for Lake Okeechobee.
