Marsh Harbour is the third largest town in the Bahamas & the biggest town in the Abacos. It is known to be a good place to restock the boat with supplies. We rode our bikes into town, but felt like we could easily be hit by a car, as the streets are narrow & filled with potholes. Plus these crazy people drive on the wrong side of the rode. We have to remember to keep left! Our fold up bikes went pretty good with cases of beer strapped to the back.
We stayed at Harbour View Marina. Not much to say about the place, it's nice enough & has a heated pool. We launched the dinghy to explore. We went around to the other side of the island & went snorkeling off Mermaid Reef. It was filled with schools of tropical fish & we saw several sea turtles. The other side of the island is much prettier & more tropical. For the first time I forgot my camera, so no good pictures to view.
We plan to leave Wednesday & head to Hopetown, but want to come back on Saturday for Junkanoo. We hear that is really something to see!
