The weather is beautiful! The water is dead calm, it's sunny & warm. To start our travels today we had to go through the Indian Cay Channel to get to the Little Bahama Bank. The channel is very narrow & shallow, with some sections only 6 ft. deep over coral. Our GPS put us on a perfect course right through, as the channel only has one marker at the beginning. Then we entered the Little Bahama Bank, which is miles of light blue water with a sandy bottom. The whole area is only 8-13 ft. deep. The water is so crystal clear you can see every shell & rock on the bottom.
We went to Great Sale Cay & anchored in Northwest Harbour. We launched the dinghy & took Hooper to shore. We then came back to the boat to go for a swim & do some snorkeling.
Most of the boats that were in the marina with us yesterday came to this anchorage. It is the first stop when crossing the Little Bahama Bank. Tomorrow everyone will start to go in different directions to explore.
