Exumas

The morning was a little stormy, so we went exploring by bicycle. It quickly cleared up and then we ventured out on the boat.

Saw a rainbow this morning. Will take the boat out later to pick up the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Not sure what the ruins are from

The north end of the island

We had some stale chips so we stopped to feed the pigs again

That's a lot of pork

Al tries to convince the pigs that we don't have anymore food

I think that's a sea cucumber

We thought it was a blue hole, but it was only a patch of seaweed

Walked through here to get to the Bubble Bath on Compass Cay

Some people in the Bubble Bath

It's very calm right before a wave comes

And then the wave rolls in

And I get washed away

Al takes his turn

Almost drowning

This spot is called The Aquarium

Plane wreck. Rumor says it was carrying drugs through the Bahamas many years ago

That big yacht is Mimi. It pulled into the yacht club yesterday. We first saw it on the Ten-Tom Waterway in Alabama when we were on our Great Loop Trip. Never thought we'd see it again.

Bitter Guana Cay & Great Guana Cay

Today we went to the beach on Bitter Guana Cay to see the Iguanas. Then we went to Black Point, which is the settlement on Great Guana Cay. We had lunch there, met some cruisers from Oriental, North Carolina, then hiked to the ocean side to see a blow hole.

Approaching iguana beach

At first the iguanas were hiding

Then they came out to check us out

Blowhole. It's a shame so much debris washes up from the ocean.

When a wave comes in the water shoots up

Staniel Cay

Our rental boat was delivered today. Now we can explore by sea.

It's a Triumph 17ft. with a 60 hp. Our 17 ft. Boston Whaler is so much nicer!

We went to Big Majors Cay to see the swimming pigs.

Piglets on the beach

Staniel Cay

We flew to Staniel Cay, Exumas, Bahamas. We'll be there from January 30 until February 6.

Flying Watermakers Air out of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport

 Cessna 208 Caravan

We sat right behind the pilot

 Flying over Bimini

We landed on Andros to clear customs

We're staying at Isles Inn

We used these bicycles to tour the island. The island is very hilly and the roads are pretty rough.
